Compensation

Salary Range: $59.00 - $66.00 per hour

Pay for PRN positions is calculated differently than Full-Time, Regular Part-Time, and Part-Time positions. PRN Rates depend on the position and other factors, including years of experience, or shift commitment according to the department policy. PRN differential is added in certain positions.

Responsibilities

Position Overview:
The Skin Wound and Ostomy RN will provide inpatient wound care services through consultation, educational support, and staff development activities. Will provide the bedside nurse with the knowledge, skill, and competence to manage wounds will be critical to the treatment and success of this position. In addition, the will provide consultative and educational services to patients and their family members to assist them in the management of their individual wound care needs. Ultimate responsibility and accountability for day to day patient care will continue to rest with the individual nurse assigned to the patient. Will also serve as a resource to the hospital regarding: Current best practice and evidence-based practice/guidelines as it relates to wound and pressure injury care, National Patient Safety Goals as it aligns with the expertise of the Skin Wound and Ostomy Nurse, and Cost effective, appropriate utilization of wound care dressings, supplies, and pressure reduction specialty beds.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
• Associate of Science Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Five (5) years of clinical experience in acute care nursing and/or education
• Current California RN license
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification


Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN)
• Certified as a Certified Wound Specialist or a Certified Wound Care Nurse
