Compensation

Salary Range: $81.36 - $130.18 / hour

Responsibilities

Position Overview:

The Director of Inpatient Pharmacy and Compliance is responsible for the management of the inpatient staff including Clinical Pharmacists, Staff Pharmacists, Technicians and Clerks. Operational responsibilities include compliance with regulatory boards, BOP, FDA, DEA, DNV pharmacy regulations and best practices. Organizational responsibilities include program oversight/development and committee work. This includes staff development, P&T, MERP, ASP, diversion oversight and expansion of clinical services.

 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
1. Ensures compliance with all licensure and governing body requirements for all pharmacy locations (inpatient and outpatient, IV rooms).
2. Maintains department policies including writing and editing.
3. Provides oversight of diversion prevention and oversees the Diversion Specialist.
4. Responsible for clinical staff development including pharmacy residency program and ambulatory pharmacy.
5. Oversee Pharmacy Intern programs through affiliations with universities and schools of pharmacy.
6. Oversees Staff Pharmacist development to achieve clinical status.
7. Technician Staff development including chemo compounding and Tech check Tech program.
8. Oversees pharmacy operations at OVCH.
9. Antibiotic Stewardship that reaches CMH, Ojai, SNF and Clinic system.
10. Responsible for IV room compliance at CMH and OVCH.
11. Maintains Specialty pharmacy accreditation.
12. Participates in Committees as assigned including P&T, MERP, ASP, Medicine.
13. Supports the Medical Residency program through clinical activities.

14. Oversees the work of all pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and clerks for the inpatient pharmacy at CMH and OVCH including hiring, performance evaluations, and etc.
15. Reviews and participates in financial projections, budget proposals, and QORs.
16. Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the inpatient pharmacy staff including Clinical Pharmacists, Staff Pharmacists (including leads), Interns, Diversion Specialist, Technicians (including leads) and Clerks. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Master’s Degree
  • Current CA Pharmacist License
  • Five (5) years pharmacy experience
  • Two (2) years of managerial experience
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, both orally and in writing, and ability to articulate complex ideas and concepts to senior management and several customer levels

 

Preferred:

  • PharmD
  • Chemotherapy Infusion experience
  • Epic experience
