Compensation

Salary Range: $64.28 - $102.85 / hour

Responsibilities

This full-time position is designed for a professional seeking to be part of a high energy, start-up fundraising function. This position is committed to work locally and make a difference in the Ojai community. This position may also assist the Foundation Board and management team as requested.

 

This Director of Development has a dual reporting relationship; reporting directly to the Chief Marketing & Development Officer with a dotted line reporting structure to the President of the Ojai Valley Hospital Foundation.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  1. Plans, leads, implements, and manages fundraising strategies and activities in support of Community Memorial Healthcare and Ojai Valley Hospital Foundation goals.
  2. Raises awareness in the community of the importance of philanthropic support for Ojai Valley Hospital Foundation and Community Memorial Hospital – Ojai.
  3. Manages the operational fundraising calendar, mailings and meetings.
  4. Manages all Foundation events. Including organizing and attending luncheons, dinners, visits, and other functions to promote philanthropic support.
  5. Coordinates media in collaboration with Community Memorial Marketing team
  6. Manages the Foundation donor database including regular updates.
  7. Continuous interaction with donors, Board members, community members, and volunteers. Maintains a professional appearance
  8. Leads donor stewardship and relations to identify, develop, retain, and nurture a portfolio of individual and institutional donors.
  9. Coordinates volunteers and related activities.
  10. Identifies, cultivates, and solicits donors for annual, major, and capital gifts.
  11. Prepares and presents detailed written reports on fundraising activities, progress, and outcomes.
  12. Provides administrative support for media outreach, major gifts, and the endowment program.
  13. Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

Required:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Five (5) years’ experience in fundraising, marketing, and/or other related field
  • Know and can use Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Publisher
  • Excellent organizational, strong interpersonal skills, written and oral communication skills, presentation skills
  • Demonstrated success with initiating and leading several projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Maintains a CA Drivers License
  • Current and ongoing Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) that is considered insurable under the CMHS insurance coverages

 Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree
